Great Hinton Lockdown Photo Competition

In light of our inability to gather together, we shall hold an “online” photographic competitionthe PI/PO mappings, custom wrapper function with the subject being:

“What I did in Lockdown”

Any villager may enter as many photographs as they wish, there will be no age, sex or other categories. All entries (minus names) will be displayed on the Village Web site and Villagers will be invited to vote for their favourite top 3 pictures, placing them in order by scoring 1 for their favourite, 2 for the next and 3 for the third. The photographers of the top three photographs will earn the takers a prize.

Photographs can be of anything you have done or undertaken during lockdown; something you made / built, a room or area you renovated / revamped, a game or activity (walking, riding, cycling, running, etc) you did to pass the time, home schooling!!, a picture you have painted / drawn / created, before and after your weight loss program!!, the massive vegetable of a funny shape you are growing, the fantastic flower display you have created, to name but a few potential ideas. Fundamentally, if you are proud of it, take a picture and send it in.

Entries in a digital format, attached to an email at original size, are to be sent to Pete Bryant by 30th June. Each email with the photograph attached should have a title for the photograph, a short explanation of what it is about, your name and contact details (so we can give you the prize!). Those who have difficulty with getting the picture into an email can get help from Pete Bryant, Sandra Crumpler or someone they know that is IT savvy.

Voting will then take place (online) from 3rd July until 17th July. The winners will be informed shortly thereafter, and the winning photographs highlighted on the web site by the 21st July.

The Community Committee will also award a prize to the photograph that, in our opinion, is the best from a technical perspective – i.e. content, composure, use of light, focus, depth of focus.
